R. MURNO
Managing Director
Jonathan R. Murno is the Managing Director at the EMTA. His responsibilities include the collection, analysis, and publishing of EMTA’s Quarterly and Annual Volume Surveys of Emerging Markets Debt Trading, planning EMTA's quarterly and annual meetings in New York, London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo and managing EMTA's Jobs and Key Industry View pages. He also serves as Chair and Co-Chair, respectively, of the New York and London industry charity benefits which distributed over $1 Million for Emerging Market charities in 2007.
Prior to joining the Association in 1994, Mr. Murno worked in U.S. equity trading at Merrill Lynch (1987-92) and Harbor Capital Management, both in Boston. He has also worked as an Ecotourism Consultant for the Belize Enterprise for Sustained Technology (BEST) in Belmopan, Belize.
Mr. Murno speaks French and Spanish. He earned his B.A. in International Relations and French Literature at Boston University, while also studying at the Université de Grenoble III in Grenoble, France. In addition, he received a Masters in Economic and Political Development from Columbia University's School of Public and International Affairs (SIPA). He is a dual US/UK national.
